The Hour of Unmerited Favor Christ’s Family Bible Study, we believe in authentic worship and relevant, Bible-based messages which point people to Jesus Christ and provide a source of peace and direction. Corporate worship is an opportunity to praise the Lord together in an environment that helps people connect to God in a powerful way.
This is for people from all walks of life who believe church is a place to learn more about our amazing God! A place to find answers, healing, restoration, and life-long relationships. A place for real people exploring the claims of Christianity and those interested in learning how to apply God’s Word to everyday life.
AIM:
We are creating a safe space for Christian parents both virtual and physical where our children can discover why and how we are Christians.
We shall examine the Scriptures every time we gather as a Family, to learn together the “Christian Walk of Faith” (Acts 17:11)
We aim to burst popular Myths and Misconceptions about Christianity and the character of Jesus Christ in order to live according to the will and purpose of God within a Family Unit.
Create Christlike habits to enable us reflect Christ to others through interactions, speech and our children can emulate us, as we emulate God.
Deuteronomy 6: 7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
OUR BELIEFS
WE BELIEVE IN ONE GOD
We believe in God who is eternally existent in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit—each of whom possesses equally all the attributes of deity.
We believe that the Bible both Old and New Testaments, are Holy Scriptures inspired of God without error in the original writings, and a complete revelation of His will for the salvation of man, and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.
WE BELIEVE IN JESUS
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal second person of the trinity, who was begotten by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, and is fully God, but became fully man to save a lost world. We believe that he was crucified, died, buried and three days later rose from the grave. He ascended into heaven, and will one day return again.
WE BELIEVE IN THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the eternal third person of the Trinity, who permanently indwells every believer upon his or her faith in Jesus Christ.
WE BELIEVE THE BIBLE
We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Holy Spirit to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, We believe that the Bible both Old and New Testaments, are Holy Scriptures inspired of God without error in the original writings, and a complete revelation of His will for the salvation of man, and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.
WE BELIEVE IN GOD’S DESIGN FOR THE CHURCH
We believe the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and making Him known to a lost world.
WE BELIEVE WE ARE MADE IN THE IMAGE OF GOD
We believe humanity is made in the image of God. Although God designed us to have fellowship with Him, we became alienated from God through disobedience. As a result, all human beings are born with a sinful nature and choose to sin against God. We are incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through our own efforts.
WE BELIEVE IN ETERNITY
We believe that forever is spent in one of two places: eternally separated from God because of sin or in union with God because of His forgiveness and salvation. When you die, you will either spend eternity in heaven or hell. Eternal separation from God happens in hell. Eternal union with God occurs in heaven.
WE BELIEVE IN SALVATION
We believe that Salvation is God’s gift to you if you’ll accept it. We can never make up for our sin with self-improvement or good works. It is only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness that you can be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment you receive Jesus Christ into your life.
I WANT TO SERVE
Go
LIVING WITH THE MISSION IN MIND.
We strive to glorify God as we minister to physical, social, and spiritual needs in both local and global communities. We want to make an impact for Christ, and our ultimate goal as we Worship, Connect, and Serve is exactly that—to Go and reach out to the world around us for Christ.
Women
Our desire is to provide an environment where women can find encouragement, connect with other women, and grow in relationship with the Lord. Through the use of Bible studies, women’s events, women’s groups, and retreats our goal is to build a community of women who love well and strive to bring glory to God.
Young Professionals
Our desire is for everyone to have a place of community. Our young professional’s ministry gathers in small groups once a month in a large group event setting. This is a great opportunity to meet other young professionals and to grow in your walk with Christ. A friend of the Organisation DR. J.M Kanyaru and his team of professionals run this and a lot of young people have been helped.
Care Ministry
It’s okay not to be okay. God meets you where you are. We strongly believe church is not for the perfect, but as we grow in the knowledge of God our character is perfected day by day. With us, everybody is somebody.
Conflict and hardship in our lives is unavoidable. As Christians, we are called to handle conflict differently than the world. We believe that God’s Word is authoritative and sufficient for all aspects of life. Our Care Ministry is a great way to begin to assess, work through, and resolve issues in our lives that keep us from the abundant life God has planned for us.
Encouragers
Life is not always easy. Sometimes we just need a safe person to talk with.
A trained encourager is ready to hear your story, speak truth and help you determine your next step.
Our team of Encouragers knows it is more important to be yourself than to be somebody else therefore they take off their shoes, try to be in your shoes in order to understand from your point of view for more personalized encouragement and guidance through the word of God.
Biblical Counseling
Counseling that has the ability to help unleash the power of God’s Word in your life. Biblical Counselors are compassionate, trained caregivers for those who need guidance when experiencing the challenges of life.
Can We Pray For You?
We believe prayer changes things! We’d love to pray for you!
Please submit your prayer request and our staff will pray for you this week.
When Christ lived here on earth he showed us how to live and interact with each other.
As a Christian we can share the word of God but we also share our love through practical ways.
We aim to provide you with a safe space in which to explore God, yourself and connect with other people.
We need to recognize that our experiences and feelings develop socially and exploring your difficulties with others, gaining wider perspectives and discovering new possibilities for old problems.
We want to talk about the use of the principles of community development to respond to and challenge the issues facing their particular neighborhoods and communities and work alongside a wide range of individuals, groups and organizations, developing initiatives and projects to transform individuals, churches and communities.
- If you are living right you don’t need to worry about your children being Christrians. The children will be able to live and feel Christ in all they do.
- Jesus had a habit of doing good everywhere he went. A few examples are:
- Jesus walked on earth as anyone else does but when he met the sick, he healed them. When he turned up at the wedding and was informed the wine was finished he rescued the bridegroom through his first miracle of turning water into wine to cover their shame.
- Mathew 14:13 – 21 Jesus fed the 5000 using the 2 fish and 5 barley loaves of bread – he prayed and distributed the food to the people. Jesus used his commonsense to know the people were hungry and he showed the disciples that we need to look after other people’s needs.
- A woman who was caught in adultery and the crowd asked Jesus “what do you say?” and He answered: he who has never sinned throw the first stone but they all left. John 8:4 – 11
- We want to touch the lives of people by the practicality of meeting their individual needs like Dorcas/Tabitha until they pray for her to come back to life. Acts 9:36 – 42
- James 2:14What good is it, my brothers, if someone claims to have faith, but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? 15Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. 16If one of you tells him, “Go in peace; stay warm and well fed,” but does not provide for his physical needs, what good is that? 17 So too, faith by itself, if it does not result in action, is dead.
- Mathew 25: 35 Jesus says that whatever you do to the least of my brothers you do unto me.
- The woman with the issue of blood touched the hem of his garment and he felt the power leave him. The woman was healed and set free.
- God is interested in every aspect of your life. What matters to you matters to him. Is something troubling you that you have been reluctant to go to Jesus about?
